where the flavor is
“nooshe joon” (نوش جان)—a wish that what you eat brings nourishment and enjoyment, not just to the body, but to the soul.
In Farsi, joon is a word of affection. Rooted in jaan, meaning “life” or “soul,” it’s woven into everyday Persian conversation as a way of expressing warmth, closeness, and love. The kind of word you use for someone dear to you, and that feeling is at the heart of Joon’s Jam.
Growing up Persian, I was surrounded by flavors that were vibrant, fragrant, and sometimes unexpected—rosewater and saffron, tart fruits, fresh herbs, warm spices, and the Persian balance of sweet and sour. These flavors were a constant at our table and became tied to my memories of family, celebration, and home. I started Joon’s Jam because I wanted to share a little of that experience with others, bringing the Persian flavors I grew up loving into something meant to be enjoyed by everyone.
Made locally, inspired by Persian flavors, and meant to be shared generously.
